First of all I want to congratulate Kevin for his awesome project.
I decided to replicated that rim, but I know that isn't simple as it seems :)

I have a question about the pots you have added as feed-back to the Velleman board.
I want to connect them to the wiper motor with a 1:1 ratio, so the will never make a complete turn (in other words they will never reach the extreme 0V and 5V)
Is that a problem?
I need to fix the ratio in order to let the pots to complete a turn?
Thanks in advace ;)

ITALIANO:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf9M8iwu ... 0xzUn0d9Ej

Ciao
Kevin

Hello HC26
First of all, thanks for the compliments

If you can help by'll put a video borrowed from a member of the forum;) Thank you for the proper functioning of the engine and pots ... in practice the motor must not make a complete circle in half and work with the right igranaggi potentiometers work from 0v to 5v guaranteed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf9M8iwu ... 0xzUn0d9Ej

a tip: If you use the card K8055 careful that if you reset the computer or goes haywire x-sim card from direct current to the motors and the risk of breaking the pots with the gear system .... and I have broken than 6 ... : D until you've configured everything well my advice and using other settle try to see here on the forum that there are also other ways to give the position of the engine and if that happens mentioned above do not have any damage.

Ok, thank you for the answer.

In other words if the motor can only make half of a complete circle I have to set up a gear system with a 2:1 ratio that will turn the pots one full turn.
However I think that the output of the potentiometers will never reach 0V and 5V, right?

Ciao
Kevin

I do not know what kind of gear you can use that are happy with what you say 2:1 (here I leave you in the hands of experts) I used 2 gears retrieved from a servo and are equal in size and teeth and I assure you that I get 5V is in the positive and negative
also because the 0% and 100%, which is = 5V which is the operating range of the engine you have to set you in x-sim http://postimage.org/image/z83nt797z/ ...however, keep in mind that those values are in the right position of the motor potentiometers give the K8055.

First of all I want to congratulate Kevin for the project and for the very detailed guide, which for non-experts like me is very important ...
I decided to follow the project 2DOF K8055 + Sabertooth 2x12 Kevin to make my first project.
I followed all the steps in the guide, until the test engine of which I enclose a movie, but now I have the problem that I can not run X-sim Extractor, I have no output signal from the motor program for movement

Maybe I Maybe I missed some steps, could you help?

Thanks in advance
Luca

Hi Luca,

I saw that you didn't copy effects in Extractor. When you click on MotionDriver button, click on Telemetry Plugin button, choose rfactor and click the big blue button on top-right, it is called "Standard setup for left dialog". This button will copy all effects from upper box into lower box.

Upper box presents all the available effects you can have in the game, and lower box presents the effects you choose to have. For example, you can move only 2 effects from upper box to the lower box and you will have only that two effects available. But the standard procedure is to simply copy all effects with press of the big blue button.
