hello kalarakis!

Thanks for your help to tombo as unfortunatly, I don't understand his problem... A defective driver board could be the explanation!

kalarius wrote:do you have place a resistance (470R) at one side of the pot?
this is happen because at the one side of the pot the resistance is 0 and this short the power and damage the power line or burn the edge of the pot

Sorry, but I disagree with this...
There is no "power" on this 5V line: no short-circuit could happend.
It's the logical circuit and not power circuit.

The Arduino measures the voltage from 0V to 5V. It's not a problem to have no resistance at all.

@tombo :

to choose your driver board, you need to measure the current drawn by your motors under load!

if you cannot, I would bet that 12A continuous and 30A peak (per motor) is probably enough...

Hi,
i cant measure with load because my ampere meter takes only 10A and i do not want to burn it.
For me the hard thing is to find a driver thats working. I had 4 hbridges now and never get a working solution so i thought this motor monster is just easy stick togehter, connect pots and hey you're done! But now i got motor monster and one motor isn't inverting =( so what h bridge would you recommend instead of motomonster? I thought the pololu one is good because it is an arduino shield too.
I'm trying to get this working since one year :( I don't know if i'm unlucky or just stupid because it works for so many other people.

Hi RacingMat.

What kind of loctite do you use to assemble the threaded m4 rod to the back of the motor? Is it super glue?

Cheers

Hi,
today i've tested it with very small motors but the effect is the same. Since there is any load in A1 and B1 this channel will only work in one direction. The other direction seems to be shorted. I rellay think now my moto shield is defective.
So my question did anybody use this hbridge with success? http://nodna.de/Pololu-Dual-VNH5019-Motor-Driver-Shield-fuer-Arduino-12A
Because if yes i will buy this one because sending back the defective one to dx and wait for new one will take 6 weeks or longer :(

Hi Tombo,

The motomonster I'm using, comes from TinkerSoup.de.
I had a bad experience with the H-bridges I bought from DX.com: they burnt and killed one Arduino...
It's maybe the explanation :-(

You're definitly not stupid! but sometimes we got crazy by details... and unluck. Keep trying, you'll succeed!!

It's a loctite called "frein-filet" in french, it's dedicated to prevent unscrewing.
in english, it seems to be "Thread Lock Loctite"

Hi,
thanks for all your repplys. I've ordered this bridge now. I had a look at the code and its for VNH2SP30. But my board is a VNH5019. Does it work if i correct the pins right or did i have to change the code to work with this libary https://github.com/pololu/dual-vnh5019-motor-shield Sry but i don't know very much about coding procedure.

@Tombo
why are you talking about coding... :?
The Hbridge you bought has the same type of pinout than Motomonster: 2 pins for direction (inA, inB), 1 pin for speed (pwm)
so, you can use my code without modification! :D no need to use an external library...

If you cannot check by yourself, don't stack it and just connect with wires (jumpers) M1inA, M1inB, M1pwn onto the pin of the Arduino (like Motomonster)
