X-sim and G27 Buttons

Postby kbssa » Tue 6. May 2014, 14:31

Hi all,

Anyone here could say me if there is possibility to send a G27's pressed button through the USO ?

I need that to change the functions of a dashboard that I am building.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hein Bruno,
the brazilian group dont have more posts, there was a great place for information months ago, but letś go ahead, l think
that a is not possible do that, th x-sim is only a output information software. You will have to deal with some software like
ppjoy or vjoy tha emulates inputs, analog one too. ppjoy only works under windows XP. The another way is use an arduino with a generic wheel, with a motor and feeedback device (potentiometer). thereś a project called unojoy and megajoy that converts an arduino into a joystick device that windows recongnize and buttons can be mapped over rfactor,
x-sim is out from this conversation

Yes, you can get buttons of your wheel with OBD2 interface and USO.
For OBD2 you can read the front page threads. It is a solution without the need of the converter application for all dashboard builders.
For USO you must add in math setup a G-Force plugin with the joystick button out of the drop down menu and then you have a math axis for USO.
Generally use the OBD2 addon of the extractor for dashboards, manuals in the posts and in the doku section. It is very simple and unified.
If a answer is correct or did help you for a solution, please use the solve button.

Thank you very much for your support sir !

I think I will use USO cuz I want more information as RPM, speed, gear, lap, fuel, etc...

Is it possible to get all that information with OBD2 ?

yes you can
Speed with higher than 255 is supported also. The values that original OBD2 do not support comes with reserved commands and are usable for apps like tourque or dashboards with arduino or other microcontroller.

Thank you vicpopo !

I found almost everything I needed in the topic and now will start working on my dash :D .

The only thing I have not found is how to get speed higher than 255. I will be thanked if you can point me to right direction.
