motiondave.
I run caps for wipers (since he is working) and I will not remove them! I use the sim everyday for couple hours - cross fingers it lasts
I can't understand we I should buy more wipers then needed just to sort the bad out? If this works... but this seems unscientific to me.
What sould be the differnece between two wipers with the same oem-number?

And it's not me who mentioned the caps to bruceaust... and if Pololu confi utility works all the time without errors I think david is out of responsibility

I understand your point but unfortunately this did not work for me. Never change a running system?!

If no one else here has used capacitors for a "noise" issue, then you are welcome to try, but you are on your own.

I just spent a few hours sim racing and testing. The JRK's performed without a fault. Thankyou Bob, Dave, and Yoko, the help and discussion of possible solutions to these types of issues is always productive.

"On Reflection": It is very typical of how faults are resolved, particulatly in the DIY community.
I have fixed my issue by considering all the information I could get at this time, from you guys, my own experience and any other source that invades my brain from time to time :D

I feel it is important to say how dificult it is to track down intermitent faults. Sometimes they are there, they sometimes they are not. It always leads you to think you have found "the answer" but sometime you are heading up the wrong path. ( maybe that is a philosophy on life :) ) Although we may have similar problems with the electronics or mechanical hardware, we must realise that each of our projects is unique. Motor type, motor position, cabling locations, power supply type, where the electronics is mounted, length of cables, type of cabling, where the PCs are, operating environment, electrical magnetic fields, our practical experince and understanding of the electronics systems and software and etc...etc......... all are unique to our own instalations-----

It is a wonder we get this stuff going at all :D

Well I believe I have had some success :D.
I added 100nf Caps to the motor terminals, twisted the motor power cables, then just did 20 laps and did not have one com port error.

I tried your quote above, too. Everything was fine so far.
But... with my new version of the sim (added 3dof) I had Comport errors again. I added another Jrk to the setup. Now the two "old" one gave my comport errors on starting convertor + one of the boards had this error message "SetComm State error". I googled on this :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa363436%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
. The only thing to stop the errors was adding an usb opto isolator and a hub between these two Jrk's and the Pc.

:?:

Now everthing works without error for two days.

Best regards
