How to reset axis maximum when converter is not on?

Postby PyromaniacB » Tue 26. Jun 2012, 01:49

Is it possible to have an axis that will reset its maximum value to something (could be any low number, like 1) whenever the converter is started? I have an axis for maximum RPM that has automatic maximum adjustment in Output 1:1. I have a shift light that starts blinking at 90% maximum rpm. So when I fully rev on neutral before I start driving, the value gets set to the maximum RPM value.

It works fine if I go from a car with let's say 9000 max RPM to a Formula with max 20000 rpm. But when I go back to the 9000 RPM car, the value is still at 20000 and I won't get my shift light as it's waiting for 18000 RPM which is of course never achieved.

Is this possible to do somehow, so that the value resets every time I go to the menu which stops the converter as it is using autoscan :)
Of course I could go change the value every time manually, but that's too much of an effort...

I hope you understood what I meant! And I hope I haven't missed anything obvious ;)

Well yes, as I do have an Arduino controlling the cluster I guess I could code it in there. I'll just have to figure out how to tell the Arduino when I've changed the car. I think I probably could do it with it recognizing the pauses on serial when X-Sim stops sending data. Then again, it would reset every time I paused the game. Hmm..

E: Actually the pause issue would be apparent with the first example too. So I'm probably going to put in a reset button for the shift light, or maybe a potentiometer to adjust it (would be kind of neat so you could make the shifting point lower even on the same car if you're doing an endurance race).

Place it in the feature tracker, even if it is deleted in two days.
