USO data Stream

Postby gigilauda » Mon 14. Sep 2015, 20:32

Hi, I probably did not look properly and for sure there is an answer to my question
I struggled the all weekend trying to connect a fan with pwm to my arduino and xsim
finally i discover that to get the data from the USO for Speed you have to use the S prefix in my case was S~a01~
Now i want to connect a fuel gauge water temp gauge - and an oil temp gauge and get the data from the sim

there is out there a list of prefix to user for the different Data Type?

still struggling with my fan speed idea, that is not really accurate, at 0 spin very slowly (i dont care if is completely off)
then when i accelerate i it spin faster but not reflecting the real speed, at time at 100kmh it stop..
i am using the variable carspeed that other people use to display the speed to liquid crystal display to feed my pwm sensor
it works if i use another aduino code feeding the pmw with a value from 0 to 255. hmm..
i am not sure what value is this carspeed if in decimal and may need some conversion or adjust
i was wandering if there is a way to see the string written by x-sim to the serial
i try to use putty but it say com is in use..

In windows comports can only be opened once. You need a port sniffer like "free serial port monitor".
There are two speeds, one for gaufe one for simulator, use the gauge one. And use binary transfer with 8 bit. Yoou can adjust the fan speed in the math section with min max values.
