Question to SirNoName

Postby RafBR » Fri 25. May 2012, 22:33

Hi Sirnoname!
I wish you could make one executable tool or anything that could help me to set the core 0 (zero) to back to all programs after I exit the converter.
What I mean is that I always have to restart my system or I have to CTRL alt del and change it manually to use 3ds max or other heavy core demanding software.
I think the most obvious way would be it automaticaly reset this when exiting the converter ;)

regards!

I know this question is not aimed at me, but what other cpu demanding software are you trying to use? I know 3ds max would be thirsty for power.
Also, its a weird one , do you auto isolate x-sim to first available core?
Are you trying to run your 3ds software at the same time as x-sim or in the background?
Is your cpu even powerful enough?

I know I have to stop programs from running to get x-sim to run smooth, including stopping messenger. Although the Morton Antivirus doesn't affect it.

When I use x-sim I want it to be like it is. But when I am not I want all my cpu cores working for me. As I said I can make it by ctrl+alt+del and setting afinity but it is a little bit annoying to do it all the time I restart 3ds max for instance.
The only way to avoid it is restarting the whole system (after the use of x-sim).

I work with i7920 that is, 8 threads but it is in fact only 4 cores. The core 0 used for x-sim is 1/4 of its raw power. Trust me, I know what I am talking about! I work with this system for almost 2 years and with 3ds since 18 years ago (3ds R4 DOS).

If Sirnoname could make x-sim change this core back to whole system use after one game session would be very nice. If not, I can live with it! :)

regards!

Sorry, I didnt mean to question or doubt your choice of cpu, just asking.
At least you understand the value of a decent cpu, a lot of people miss that bit.

Yeah I installed that software and my first thought is that it is not much more practical than ctrl+alt+del so I will use the request :D
