I have Windows Vista installed. I'm trying to start extractor.exe from the latest 3.0.0.9 version. It says:

"

Version "6.1 and higher" means at http://www.geoffchappell.com/studies/windows/win32/kernel32/history/index.htm:
6.1 Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2

Does it mean that Windows Vista is not supported by X-Sim? Only Windows 7?

The extractor need new directx of win7. The converter can be run on lower OS.

not sure about later versions of x-sim, but 3006 and 3007 runs on XP 32 bit, stage one version as graphics driver only works with dx 11. but it works for the usual games and plugins.
Otherwise all versions of x-sim run on 7.

Dave you are right, the parts that do not fit get disabled by itself. The extractor is running on XP BUT you need:
Internet explorer equal or above 7 and all service packs.

Microsoft says:

If PSAPI_VERSION is 2 or greater, this function is defined as K32EnumProcessModules in Psapi.h and exported in Kernel32.lib and Kernel32.dll. If PSAPI_VERSION is 1, this function is defined as EnumProcessModules in Psapi.h and exported in Psapi.lib and Psapi.dll as a wrapper that calls K32EnumProcessModules.

Programs that must run on earlier versions of Windows as well as Windows 7 and later versions should always call this function as QueryWorkingSet. To ensure correct resolution of symbols, add Psapi.lib to the TARGETLIBS macro and compile the program with -DPSAPI_VERSION=1. To use run-time dynamic linking, load Psapi.dll.

Maybe the VS2010 do not use old psapi and 3008 (where I switched to VS2010) and above are in conflict with this version.

Ok, that was definitiv a VS2010 problem.
It is solved now and starting again on XP in 3.0.1.0
if someone needs this new executable because of vista -> PM me!

The 3.0.0.9 version is not working here.

After install I start the Extractor and than Windows prompt something like" The file Extractor.exe could not be found..." and after that the file is gone
Than I reinstall x-sim and the file is back there again, but after I try to execute it again same happens.

Is there a 3.0.1.0 version out?

It happened to me too few days ago, I think Avast! deleted my extractor.exe file for some reason and I couldn't run it anymore, Converter was fine though. After reinstalling I've added X-Sim folder in Avast Exclusion list and didn't have anymore problems with extractor file disappearing.

Hi guys. Got a problem with extractor that is driving me crazy.
Times ago i installed the full package and everything was all right, since one day when i tried to open the file it says something like: "impossible to find the specified file", but doesn't say which file. I tried even cleaning all registries and manually deleting the added keys from windows register. Reinstalled everything and it worked just for one run, than once again the same problem. I even set my antivirus to handle the exception of extractor.exe and even tried to disable it at all but the situation doesn't change. Any idea on what could be? I'm running under windows 7. Thanks in advance to all for any suggestion.

This is the notification that your .db file with game location informations is corrupt. If you press yes it will not ask again. This happens if you use antivirus and cracked games. The game executables get deleted by the antivirus and the database do not find the games.
