X-Sim Data Collector has stopped working  Topic is solved

Postby mrconsoler » Mon 21. Oct 2013, 20:21

I'm doing a fresh install on the new Windows 8 x64 machine. I setup actuators, so they are now moving when launching the Extractor, but when I import a game profile and click on "Play Game", the game launches, but the Extractor crashes with "X-Sim Data Collector has stopped working" message. Notice also that I'm running Community Edition and I using the same account for all computers...

Yes, there are some messages which say this comes with the last version and GTR2. The plugins are recompiled with another microsoft compiler but we did not find what is the problem. However they did solve the problem and I did not hear again some problems.
Which game do you use?

Hi ,

Maybe it is not the same problem but I had the same crash using GTR2 with win7 x64.
I noticed that I choosen the race07 plugin in motion driver when launching the game. After I checked that I was using the right gtr2 plugin in motion driver menu I didn't get this error message and crash.

Do the problem disappear if you install the older version in directory temp and copy all the content of the folder /plugins to the new installation?

I am still trying to reproduce this without success.

I found another crash if you start the extractor in a long directory name and out of the windows explorer with double click. However it is not debugable.

Try: open command window, change to the x-sim directory and execute the extractor.exe
Also try to move the X-Sim folder to C:\
Perhaps we see the same issue??

I have found a crash and fixed it. However I do not know if this is what we are talking about here :)
It has something to do with not connected game input device on startup. (Maybe because of a new Direct X)
Is there someone who can reproduce the problem and test a new version of the extractor?

As reported in one of the last pm's. I got the same misfunction and still use 3.0.1.9 with the extractor v3 on my gaming pc - 3.0.2.8 works "only" my test system.
