Motec CDL3 plugin

Postby pucky » Thu 8. Nov 2012, 07:15

Hi All,

I've just purchased a Motec CDL3 Track Kit for my car and I'm wanting to plug it into x-Sim and use it when I'm sim racing. I'm stuck at the part where I will need a female ODB2 connector to USB (I think) to plug into x-sim. Has anyone done this before? If so can you point me in the right direction?

The dialog makes reference to ELM327 but I'm thinking that is for plugging into a car not mimicing a car, am I reading that correct?

Any help would be much appericated.

Cheers
pucky

There is only OBD2 software for different OS supported, no hardware. The PC does not have a hardware OBD2 bus system where you can connect the hardware. a OBD2 software do read ELM327 which itself reads the car bus, your hardware do read the car bus directly.

Edit: of course hardware that connects via WLAN or BT or RS232 to a ELM327 interface will work.
