Symbols are not allowed as written in the registration dialog.

That's only for the username, not for the password

Both, the setup of the forum does not allow usernames with symbols.
There are two different php scripts written by two different peoples which insure only charaters a-z, A-Z and number 0-9. One script does work the password script does allow even I setup to not allow symbols. So only the password has no check for special characters an the notice must be placed to warn the user.

Made a new account without the symbol and bam it worked fine! I owe you a beer
