I have been a member before but never posted and my account was deleted so I figured I better say hello. I am a new lurker here to gather information and ideas to build a racing rig. They rig I would like to build is a 3DOF platform style using 3 phase AC motors with VFD's but this might prove to be a little pricey. I would also consider DC motors with the 3DOF platform if they could be powerful enough. My fall back is the classic 2DOF seat mover but moving pedals and wheel too.

My biggest issue is sourcing proper motors, particularly on the AC side. What general specifications should I follow?

Thanks,
mdp

Hallo Leute,

Hi Guys,

I am 28 years old and love cars and technique. I've never raced a racing simulation, so far there were just a few racing games on the Playstation. My spare time I would like to spend more often on the racetrack, unfortunately my money bag does not come here: D. To my most beautiful days count the ones where I with Lamborghini, Ferrari and co. On the route in Zanvoort.

I came across a DIY Motion Rig on Youtube by chance and fell in love immediately.

Maybe I'll get a ride on my own.

Hi everybody !

Nice to meet you!

I am a newbie when it comes to motion software, but I have experience in programming, networking.
I am interested now in creating a solution in order to use the Nolimits 2 roller coaster with a simulator with multiple seats.

The problem I try to solve (my project) : we need at this moment for each seat a computer to play the coaster in order to deliver the "virtual reality video stream" to each occupant For the VR experience we use Oculus Rift.

I am aware the problem is not related to x-sim software, but it could be part of the solution.

I hope I am going to be able to sort it out, maybe with community's help. If there is already a solution out there, please let me * I don't intend to reinvent the wheel.

Hi, I´m new here and my english not so good. Hope you can help me. Trying to built a motion seat for Videos, especially fire engine ride along. The mechanical part seems similar to the most racing seats. Also installing the electronic hardware shoul be not a great problem. But: How can I generate the steering signals simultaneously to the video? I´not a programmer, only a craftsman. I didn`t found such a project yet. Maybe someone can give me a note, where to find. Hope on your experience. Thank you very much for reading. Rudi.
