hi yes it seems its a rear wiper motor....but good enough for test and learning how to set up software yes?


why do i have to play with pid setting anyway I thought the x-sim software recognized card and I don't have to do anything?

I looked at this plugin but this plugin require me to use polou configuration utility. Is that really easier than daves video of adding board and one step further of adding uso command?


Also will x-sim work if I am just using Keyboard or I have to buy wheel or joystick? Please reply this so I know as I been just using keyboard. I will buy joystick or wheel if you say it doesn't work.

The PID settings are to get the motor to run properly . Surely you can change some numbers.
The motor will be fine for testing and getting used to the software.
The plugin is for making thejrk more plug and play.
I only offered the USO commands as a choice . It's to help get you started .
A video of the plug in instructions needs to be done,and usually I do them, but my kids are home on school holidays .i will not get to it till February .
If you are not sure about the plug in at this stage, use USO .
The pololu utility is for setting up how the motor reacts, hence a feedback setting and PID.
You need to change the PID , it will help your motor to be less twitchy .

AnD yes the program works with a keyboard , as the keyboard controls the car in game.
Then go buy a wheel later.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled, cleared registry 2 or 3 times , this is what is happening, the extractor is running in background but the only thing I am able to do is scan for game then when i click quit the little window closes and there is no more access to extractor.

what version of windows are you running,
did you allow all x-sim related programs through firewall.
are you running more than one screen?

I am running windows 7

I added x-sim to exclusions in avast program

I only have one screen

I can open these 2 windows from the task bar but can't open the extractor window....but it is running in the background

extractor worked before when i started this journey last week but today no more ....it just gets harder?

It looks to me like you have same problem as I and caiubbo got. Extractor is running but there is no window. Try this:

1. You need to click on taskbar button of Extractor to make program active, even if you see no window - IMAGE
2. Then you press ALT+SPACE to get window menu in corner of desktop - IMAGE
3. With your arrow key on keyboard choose "Move" from menu, click Enter and move arrow keys to move window

This helped for me.
