Hello my fellow sim junkies! My name is Duane im a 38 year old male husband father of two and reside in San Antonio Texas. I am a pipefitter/welder by trade. I have been a gear head since I was able to walk. Always interested in how and why stuff works the way it does. I run iracing for the most part and have always been frustrated with not being able to tell when the rear end gets loose. I was googling traction loss and this site popped up. My goal is to build a motion sim that gives me all the natural feedbackof a real car. Dont think I need a 6 motor system but thats why im hear, to read and learn what you all would recommend. Building will be my strong point however writing and syncing software is going to be my downfall. Im hoping to establish some great relationships here and be able to help anyone anyway I can at the same time maybe leaning on some of you to get the motors talking to the sim the way they should. I am very excited to be her and to have found such a neat group of people.
Hope to be talking to yall all real soon.
Thanks and Cheers,
Duane

Hi Duane!

Welding skills will let you build a nice tailored sim! 8-)

Yes, sometimes it can be very frustrating to setup software side (windows com port, Ethernet link, Xsim, Arduino...)
I would advice you to start by building a simple 1DOF traction loss system with a single computer setup!

Hi Everyone, my name is ross and I am from Ireland.
I have just ordered an oculus rift dev kit 2 and it is my intention to build a 6dof stewart platform on which to mount a seat, wheel, pedals etc.
I am chasing the dream of driving supercars in VR.
I am a professional product designer, but I have lots to learn on the software side.
Looking forward to being part of this community, and I hope to contribute and share any knowledge gained through experimentation.

Ross

Hi to everyone!
I fall here when I was reading Viperpits forums about a G-Seat Chris made.
I'm building an F16 Viper full pit based on Falcon BMS and I'll give a try to X-Sim converter soft.
Have fun and thanks for the develop!

Hello Manuel!

Welcome here!

Two questions to help you further:
- What is the weight of your F1 replica?
- What is your budget?

I'm sure everybody would be delighted to see pictures of your work in a dedicated topic!
;)
