Hello,

yes, I am new. This is just my 1st message
we are a small team of limited resources - planning to custom build a station from basic elements to keep budget low. I registered to learn what compatibility problems might come from using parts from different manufacturers - unfortunately we were not able to get this info from product descriptions and we do not have parts to start experiments with - a hen and egg (Catch 22) problem: you do not buy things because you do not know what you are about to buy will be good to your purpose or not and you cannot learn this w/o having some parts....
or is everything in this field standardized and just configuration with wizards needed?

Hello all fellow members!
We have a small group of grown up children who still want to play so we decided to build a budget simulator.
We've been playing racing sims for a long long time. All started with Microprose GP1 on PC. That was a high end simulator when we had something like 20 mHz processor on our pc

Now 25 years later we are at the point where we want to play Project Cars with motion simulator and oculus rift.
Only time can show how the simulators will be when my kids are 30 years old grown up children who still wants to play :shock:

Allright! Let's hope we can get our budget rig up and working...
But there is the famous quote:" Trust me! I'm an engineer!"

In 2008 i first thought about making a 2dof chair and i started out by getting some whiper motor. However since i could not find an affordable chair or know howto weld the project died...
A few weeks ago i came accross the whiper motors and i wanted to finish it

2 years ago, my dad and I started to make a 2DOF racing simulator with a BMW E36 cluster and a Nissan 100NX cluster.
