Hi All

I'm from South Africa. I am very interested in building a simulator and very exited to find this site.
Perfect place to get (and hopefully give) some help & advice.

I am a Mechanical Draughtsman so i will post some drawings & pics as soon as I have decided what exactly I want to build.
Only thing I have so far is a Logitech G25 and the will to build.

Funny you should mention that, the graphics driver looks for data out of almost any game

My current seat mover project (not posted yet) is to be used for testing for motion with FPS games.

Hello everyone!

I'm from Croatia and I've found this site pretty spontaneous. Around 2 weeks ago I was watching youtube videos of people driving simulators on some Game Show and started to think what would one cost. I've found one simple solution, as I already own Playseat and G25, which looked decent so I went to their site and ask for the price of this thing here:

Later that day I've receive an email with the answer: 1.850 €

My first thought was: "Daaaamn"

I knew that simulators are pretty expensive, but I didn't expect for that to be such cost. So I went searching for some DIY solutions and found this forum. Later on I've understood that there was also old forum and the crews split up, so I took myself a whole day to read both forums and found a lot of interesting solutions, lot of helping guides and good videos. I've learned a lot from MotionDave (bsft), watched all his videos, Floriske, BobBuilt, adbgg and others and finally I've decided to make my own 2DOF solution. -Kevin-'s project also helped me a lot and I've took his guide to make mine. Because it's my first time making such thing and I don't have any electricians background, I was looking for cheapest solution so I went with K8055 + Sabretooth and Wiper motors. If everything goes fine, later I will probably switch to more quality motors recommended by Dave or Floriske, with JRK's.

That's it from me for now, later on I will make my project thread and put some photos and videos of my work. Still waiting for boards to arrive and I will surely need some help setting up X-Sim, so I will write again :)

Hello Podigy and Lucas.
Welcome fellas!
Just ask as you need to, the JRKS http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1393
are the simplest by far and I recommend motors from motion dynamics , http://www.motiondynamics.com.au/worm-d ... orque.html

Prodigy, check out Floriske's thread, as he uses a playset setup for his.

Lucas, just ask as you need to.
We can get you both going in "no" time, so to speak.
