Hello + beginner questions

Postby yokoyoko » Tue 7. Aug 2012, 04:02

Hallo x-sim forum,
Vorweg: absoluter Wahnsinn und echt verrückt was hier so geht!

Hi x-sim forum,
my name is Mirco and I'm from Bad Eilsen in Germany. About 2 weeks ago I've got a g25 for present. Since then, hard played gtr2.

Looking for setup's for the steering wheel I'm stuck with your forum. First of all: absolutely insane and really crazy here! !::
I've been using Catia "quick and dirty" created a 3d model. Here I am completely dedicated to what I have seen and read here. Frex-style, right? The whole is to be operated with Sabbertooth, VM110, and wiper motors!

240239

Wiper motors are not first choice, but the whole project should first be implemented as cheap as possible.

to my questions:

1.) If the execution generally quite useful as shown, or are there better approaches for wiper motors?
2.) If used for mounting under the seat is a rubber-metal bearings - [url] http://www.maedler.de/Product/1643/1626/2183/600.aspx [/ url] - which diameter is useful? I thought at 40mm, or is it too stiff or too large - for the prevention of torsion of the seat frame are two struts attached.
3.) Kardan is better suited as a rubber-metall?
4.) If the angle of the wiper motors do not care or it is useful to the motors on the angle of the "rods" adapt? So that the lever of the motor with the point of the upper retainer aligned. :? sry for translation -i hope you can understand
5.) Which lever arm length for the wiper motors
6.) What is the ideal operating angle of the motors? 180 °, or rather less

- Can someone post some general dimensions of its rigs, or give me a link where I can get some dimensions. I am concerned with dimensions for the seat frame with angle of the strut behind it as well as their length, the dimensions of the base frame, the steeringmounting
I know a lot of questions. I hope it is not too bold with the first post - I really searched a lot, but either I'm blind, or read about the important details.
For answers tolls. Help in advance thank you.

Ps: Sorry for the poor "Googel-English"

One thing to suggest, use Pololu JRK's http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1393 easy to wire, and one board per motor. Less mucking around setting up.
I have added a general sketch of a seat mover, which is what you have planned.
This was designed with 25mmx x 25mm x 1.6mm steel and 16mm MDF sheet wood.

Thanks for your reply.

What is the main advantage of the ploolu? The Sabertooth is availible in Germany and is a bit cheaper. Will the "dynamic speed setting" help with the sabbertooth, or is for wipermotor use not the way to go? like - http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xij0ju_essai-simulateur-dirt-2_videogames

edit.: pololu also availible in germany...

In combination with the Pololu what is best to use? - also the Vm110?

Ok. Thanks!
Now I understand that i will need 2 Jrk's and that is does the job of the 8055 too.

in summary pro's of the Jrk:
- 30 Amp (max) per motor (more futuresave for bigger motors)
- 12 bit instead of 8 bit resolution
- Way to setup with x-sim?

You convinced me by the electronics - i will give 2x Pololu a go - (I own a Weller Solderstation - but everthing smaller than a 1mm wire is critcal  ).

Can someone please say something about Kardan vs. Rubberbushing for centering the motion. What length of lever do you use for the wiper's and is the angle of the motor important or is it not important because of the circular orbit?
(With the info of the leverarmlenght i want to do a mtotionanalyse with catia.)

If you are using wipers, start with the standard 40mm centre to centre arm thats on the things.
I think you may be overstretching the wiper with a long arm. Although I am sure Bobbuilt will prove me wrong ;)

Also is a pic of how to wire up the jrk ,and an example photo of how the pots connect the the levers for feedback.

Wow I'm very impressed by the support here! Thanks :!: Great forum

With your information i tested a bit more. You said angle of ~20° - do you mean this for one direction or together?

Example:
241242

With this setup: - motortravel= 60°up, 60°down - leverarm=80mm - wipermotors in angle with the upper mounting points - other dimensions orientated by your prev. post
I got the following corner-movement: left=11° - right=11°
For acceleration=6° - for braking=6°

What do you think? Ok, or should i change geo in any way? By your experience is that enough travel and is the splitting of cornermovement and brake/acc good for a go in real?

Hi,
last week two pololu 12v12 arrived. Also two wiper motors of a vw golf and a power supply.
Bevor i go on, Bobbuilt or others - in your experience - is the geometrie/movement ok? Or are there any advice to change?

Thanks.
