Hi i am newbie and am working on a 6DOF

Hi everyone i am new to the forum and a newbie to building one of these the physical building it is not the problem but making it move is . My plan is to use Ball Screw actuators with stepper motors or servo motors . ok first ? is can i control 6 stepper motors with a Arduino uno 2 ? can it be programed to automatically find center of the actuator stroke . here are some pictures of where i am . i have bought a AMC AASD controller off thanos but i feel it can be done Cheaper and work as good as o i will do a search and i am sure i am not the first doing it this way so if you know of a thread pleas point me to it and thank you for your help
