actuators lose balance

Postby abs2 » Fri 12. Jul 2013, 06:53

hello

it seems that when playing games the actuators become uneven in position. this seem to happen only in iracing so far (to be confirmed)

is this an issue where it would be preferable to have a secong pc for the convector

thanks

(i use 2 snc5 150, 2 devantech controller rs485-usb , windows 7 x64) , devantech firmware is the latest, timing 3 3 70 all boxes checked .
i use a bass shaker , i use only one PC ,I tried other timing_

thanks

Just shooting in the dark here based on my own personal experience...

When I feel like my chair seems to lean, or respond unevenly.... The cause always seemed to be an incorrect profile setting. At least if that effect was only happening in 1 game and the other games didn't experience the same problem.

Usually the cause was having 1 force set differently between left and right settings. For example, the percentage setting would be set 50% on left, and 70% on right for lateral force. When both should be set at the same percentage.

Another possible incorrect setting is not having mirrored force values with for left & right. For example...

Lateral Force

left is set 500,000 max (positive/negative) / 50,000 min (positive/negative) and
right is set 50,000 max (positive/negative) / 5,000 min (positive/negative)

Notice the max/min setting doesn't mirror left and right. This happens accidently when making adjustments to settings and not noticing the fine details. LEFT & RIGHT should be 500,000 max ( pos/neg) / 50,000 (pos/neg)

Also check and make sure you have the invert setting correct for left/right depending on which force may require a different setting between left and right.

The easiest way to check settings is to turn all forces to 0% and check 1 force at a time until you find the source of the anomaly.

Another issue could be your rig not being properly balanced. But you would notice this issue in all games equally.

Personally I experienced using a 2nd PC was only beneficial to improve performance becuase running x-sim on the same gaming machine was causing very poor frame rates in the game, or really choppy motion (or laggy) movement. Something I don't experience with a decent PC & video card. So I've had no benefit running a 2nd PC for X-sim.
