The Crew PC

Hello,

Here the documentation for The Crew output telemetry :

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mbe ... sp=sharing

If I have time I'll code a pluging for X-Sim myself.

Cheers,
Seb

Hello Seb,

Thanks for the output telemetry. I have a 3DOF-simulator myself which you can see here:

It is not quite clear how to read out the telemetry values. Are you accessing memory values?

Thanks in advance,
Bart

For everyone who wants motion out of The Crew, use the life for speed plugin. Then change the port info in the extraconfig file from 1337 to 4123. Downside of this is you can only use pitch roll yaw. Other telemetry data will not work. Until someone writes a plugin that uses port 1337 u can use this solution.

Hello kbmaugustijn,

Thanks for the tip. You are talking about pitch, roll and yaw. Does it give the orientation of each axis and also the speed of the axis? If this is the case it is still very interesting. I have no copy of The Crew so I can't test but I will certainly get one if orientation and speed is given. Could you maybe post a small video where you can see the changing values?

Thanks in advance,
Bart

Hey Bart,

here is a short video of outsim, converter and ingame (it's a bit blurry sorry). Longitudenal and lateral don't work because they are connected to orientation. if you're driving east the forces are correct but if you go west the forces are reversed :? pitch roll and yaw seem to work perfectly (in like city's little pitch while driving on mountain roads lot of pitch/roll).

Hello Kevin,

Thanks for the video. Can't you use the acceleration for X, Y and Z determine the speed of the actuators?

And with the reversing of the longitudinal an lateral forces, can't you use the X-map orientation (or Y-map or Z-map) to detect when the reversing occurs? If so you can program a controller like an arduino to take the reversal into account.

Greetings,
Bart
