Looking good indeed!

Do you have enough clearance on the motor arms so they can make a full rotation? This shouldn't happen in perfect conditions, but while testing it does once in a while.

Nope, it will hit the wood. Is it necessary that they can make a rotation? If so, i will need to higher up the motors...

It isn't nescesary (motiondave doesn't do this all the time either) but advisable because when something goes wrong during set-up or e.g. one of the feedback pots dies you have the risk of the motor wanting to keep turning in it's last direction/making a full rotation.

Don't know how much you would need to raise them to get them cleared, else you could simply cut a piece of plywood and place that in between.

Not really, if you are using jrks, just set the feedback a bit up from the hit stop, thats what I did.
Mind you , I am insane.....

Thanks guys. I will let the motors and levers this way. :D

I have no idea how X-sim and the JRK works, still need to install the software, but i will figure this out.

About a emergency stop, maybe a NC (normally closed) switch will work. When the motor lever will go to far down and it hit the swich the signal will be interruped.:

Using microswitches for switching the 12V line would only work if the switches can handle the amperage or by using a relay.

Another option would be to place the switches between the feedback signal and set up the JRK's to stop on feedback loss, that would solve the JRK reset problem as well. Simply turn your arm back in range and you are good to go again.

this would be the simplest option as Bob stated http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SP0786 , if something goes haywire, hit button, fix problem, reset switch.

This is a good idea, before the damage is done the motors will stop turning :)

The emergency stop could be an extra safety. If you feel sick, just push the button

This weekend i will get my router to cut out some wood below the lever on the motors to fix the problem and make it extra safe. Atm the lever for the potentiometer will hit the wood also. Hope that the wood will be strong enough after this action!
