Finished projects, you can't start topics here and have to request a topic in the "administrator" section first. Please use the image gallery for your pictures, a short tutorial can be found here. The first image in the first post will be shown in the project gallery.
Finally here it is, THE update. I have found some time to make a short movie and get all the pictures from the "archive".
I will start right away, I have moved out to a new house, so i had to take the racer apart. This was no problem because 1 of the PSU was blown and the frame had to be powdercoated.
I started to paint the wood:
Next, i send out the metal parts to be powdercoated in black, it came out very nice!
Mounted the rails for the seat:
I also made a dashboard with a Arduino an TM1638:
The connectors had to be re-solderd to the back:
And covered by some carbon wrap:
Next the PSU's. I have bought some new ones from eBay. These ones have 50AH each(!), a total of about 1200watts to power the wormgears and JRK's.
I made a stop for the engines, so it can''t be out of range again. This was happening when a person was stepping on of off the platform
Almost finished!
Total view:
It is a very stable platform.
Many of you asked me what the configuration is because of the big wormgear motors. Here you will find my current (and best) config for the JRK's: PID settings: Proportional Coefficient: 5/4 = 0.31250
Integral Coefficient: 13/11 = 0.00635
Derivative Coefficient: 50/3 = 6.25
PID period (ms): 5 Integral limit: 1000 Feedback dead zone: 2 Motor settings: PWM frequency: 20kHz Max. duty cycle: 350 Max. acceleration: 350 Bake duration (ms): 0 Max. current (A): 37.995 Current calibration: 149
Max. duty cycly while feedback is out of range: 350
When motor is off: Brake
I also made a short movie to see the racer in action.
