latest news .... unfortunately we have a problem  . We replaced the batteries with this power supply ( look this link for the reference ).
http://www.tme.eu/it/details/rsp-2400-2 ... ean-well/#

In practice, the electric motor generates a voltage that goes inside the power supply (through the meter we measured about 30 v  )...not good !!!
the power unit go into protection

possible solution ? tks

Hi ,

Why didn't you leave battery paralel with the psu?

Maybe you can use a slipring to transfer the power. That is what I did with my 3DOF-simulator. You can find info about a slipring here:

http://www.heason.com/wp-content/upload ... sheet1.pdf

I used the SRC 032-3 for my simulator. You can find a video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxmY12f ... e=youtu.be

As use can see it works perfectly (I assume you don't want to transfer encodersignals with it). And it is probably al lot cheaper. Should you more info on my 3DOF-simulator than you can look here:

Greetings and good luck,

Because the battery will lose his power during the use while the psu won't do it.. How can I do to use both as you said? Could you make a draw of it, please?
Thank you and greetings

Draw

For my first simulator with sabertooth and dc motors I used this setup.

When I played I switched ON the button for using the battery. If I was needing more Amp the current could come from the battery and help the psu.
And in case of back current , Voltage the battery could assume better this problem as the psu.
And If you want to re charge , re-load the battery you leave the switch OFF.
And when you stop playing you switch OFF .

hello thanos,, ... We replaced the battery at 24 volts with a 24 volt power supply ( this http://www.tme.eu/en/details/rsp-2400-2 ... mean-well/ ) always and 100 amperes, we've our first problems with it.The test 'was done in a manual way .When we turn the potentiometer in a sense, in "normal" mode, or in a "fast", there are no problems.Anyway if I suddenly ride the potentiometer in the other direction, the power supply goes into protection.
Nb: This issue has been resolved with a diode (see thelink), 'cause the engine was sending inside the power supply voltage
It often happens that the' AMC1.6 2DOF DC motor controller goes into crash: the display turns off , with the loss of the com.

Is it possible that the voltage enters to disturb everything? Could you tell me if your circuit Optolink will solve our problems?
Look the picture

thanks Leonardo

Hi,

I think you need something like this for opto isolation:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/270927572086?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Its cheaper to get it than trying to build my opto isolation boards. And they work the same pretty much.

Thanks
Thanos
