Yes, you can use the 5v from the controller

You will have to build the RC filter on the figure 4.2. What is does is to convert the PWM pulses to analog voltage. Its best to check the output signal with oscilloscope to verify that the RC filter is efficient and does not create ripples.

there is no difference ?

The other is Tandalum type and is not good for this purpose.

Why not use an electrolytic one?

because in the scheme it is not specified....so i can use also an electrolitic
