This is a very nice build!

Can I ask you howmuch did you spend on that aluminium frame?

@ Arno
The aluminium I ordered at "BlankMt" it is a seller located at the south of germany. He sells this alu stuff on ebay.de too.
I used 45x45 and 45x90mm parts (called Nut10). Meanwhile i am sure 30x30 for the frame would be ok too but on the critical parts I recommend minimum 40x40mm.

This stuff costs about ~10€ per meter. The bigger one ~17€ per meter. They ship length to 2m. Shipping cost in germany are about 30-40€ for the whole sim.
I dont know if they ship to the netherlands? Where do you live exactly??? I am going to amsterdam for holliday in a month, if there is no option for shipping - please pm me.

But please keep in mind - the mounting things for the aluminium are close as expensive as the alu itself. 10 piece 90degree "holders" will cost about 20€ the small and 50€ the big one. I needed ~40 piece of this so far...

At all this alu is cool stuff - it is like lego for big boys.

Best regards
Yoko

Hi Yoko!

Thank you for the information. My current frame is build out of steel. I still need to make a frame for my 23" Lcd monitor, this material may be a good alternative. (The monitor will not be on the sim, and I don't like a table for it)

I will take a look at it!

I live nearby Arnhem, next to Emmerich am Rhein and Kleve.

Just to keep it chique: I solicit the favour of an invitation once the marriage is completed ;)

Edit: I'm a graphic designer so if you need an invitation.......

@ Floris (and all other of course)

There is your way :D - last parts will arrive tomorrow or wednesday. I buy some beer and chips for thursday, ok?

Also as a general idea I find a x-sim "europe" meeting very interesting. I will be at Amsterdam (05.10 - 10.10.12) -> perhaps there is a possibilty to meet? (Unfortunately, the sim does not fit in my car) - BUT I'm very interested in driving a whole moving sim (not "just" a seatmover like mine).

Funmode on:

Edit: I'm a graphic designer so if you need an invitation.......

muhahahaaa!!! I have trained on "gimp2" so much in the past (for realizing a nice foto for sirnoname) that I became a graphic designer myself, I think

Be impressed of my skills:

Still funmode on:

Back to topic: to get my sim even more realistic I planed to put a fan and a bowl of fuel under the seat. Everytime getting in pit the fan will start blowing fuel odor into my face... Also I hired some employees who will sit next to the sim with a lighter and a piece of rubber - everytime hitting a corner to hard - they will burn some rubber. ---> I call it the "nose mod"

Funmode off!

The more realism mod could be interesting.
I had though of hooking up a smoke machine to blow smoke when you get wheel spin and skidding. Must be a way of doing that.

Other thing considered were, bursting into flames on a crash, having an ejector seat for flight emergencies.

Have the drink hose with beer in it instead of water.....hic....

Oh, and I/d better buy one of those big Arabic smoking pipes with the long hose, so I get "high" and "fly" while racing. Saves having to "pull over" and smoke up.

cough....cough.....

....*...what were we talking about?
