Here is another video of my platform. Made some changes to my settings, see below. Getting smoother * :D Take a look.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ycF83q6NSg

I went ahead and changed the Accel and Decel settings from 0.15 to 0.50 under F002 and F003 on my Hitachi VFD. By doing that I was able to complete the Auto-tune, H001, with rotation, 02, and it worked for all six VFD's. No Accel, Decel error codes!! This is one step no one should overlook as it made an even bigger difference when I put the platform through the motions. Before the Auto-tune I would sometimes get a slight chatter on abrupt moves through the mid point of the arm movement where the load was the greatest. I'm not getting that nearly as much even with abrupt forward, reverse changes I make with the x-sim sliders. Much smoother than before which I thought was pretty good. I might even try to raise the "P" value to see what happens.

The only thing I do see now after the Auto-tune is sometimes the #2 motor and #1 motor, front of the platform, seem a little slower in their movement. Motor #2 more than #1. Only in test mode. When I move the sliders manually they are fine, but when it transitons from one movement to another in test mode, sometimes they seem a little slower than the rest. Just sometimes. Any ideas??

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks for the advice.
I'm getting close to that stage and any help is certainly appreciated with cutting through the scary woods of calibration and setup :)

Thumbs up.

Thanks Doc......any way I can help would be my pleasure. Started painting her last night, looking good. Working out most of the kinks. Platform is very smooth. I was informed that when using an older computer to test the platform has a lot to do with its movement. The FPS on my laptop is poor which is causing my platform under certain programs for testing to act jumpy. When I use the test mode under the Thanos 6DOF, it runs really smooth, especially when using the sliders manually. I have to run the motors at 50% otherwise it's like spending time at the rodeo!!!! :D

I'll post my progress.......your platform looks awesome. My buddy is giving me his old 5 point harness from his Extra 300 to use on my chair. I think I'll be safe *...lol

I've finished most of my panels to cover-up most of the gear boxes to give the platform a more sleeker and finished appearance. I've also added my butt-kicker to my upper platform, which is now sporting it's finished black top. I'm awaiting my monitor stand so I can complete my upper platform with the chair but I made a video using rfactor to show how the platform is moving and I think it's moving great so far. I tuned down some of my motions for the racing sim to feel more realistic. I am no longer getting error codes as I have kept my accel and decel settings at .5 You will also notice the bolts holding the platform to the floor in the video. My FPS will be better once I start using my gaming computer. All running on this older laptop for the moment.

Mr Stevan, you should be 110% very chuffed with your work. It looks amazing with the black paneling. Very beautiful.
It's certainly got some nice polish to it, not just with the aesthetics, but with the motion and build quality as well.

Here is where I am so far, I have some more decals to install then the wiring!! :) I'm using rFactor for my testing. I can't wait to try it with my gaming computer as it will process the framerates much better for a smoother simulation. My laptop cannot handle the x-sim and the game, as it maxes out the processor. Anyone have a good profile to recommend for rFactor 6DOF AC Motor?? I found a few but the ques seem off. Also any input on Assetto Corsa? Look like a great game. I will be using iRacing with BFF software once I'm all set-up as I am a member of iRacing.

After 3 1/2 months I'm finally finishing up my platform with some graphics. BFF software and the Thanos AMC1280USB are providing the motion for my Mazda at the Mazda Speedway in iRacing. It's amazing how you feel the upshifting, downshifting, braking, acceleration, deceleration, drifting and all the nuances associated with driving. It's incredible. Thanks to Thanos and Ian for helping me get to this point....Sincerely!!!!

I had a few requests to video driving an Oval track. Here is a link of me driving at Daytona. It feels great in the chair, I hope the motion is what you were looking for as it feels like you are on the track!!!!! :D

OK. That is just perfect! I cant believe that the platform actually was lifted to the motion cues of changing tires in the pitstop!!!!! Blown my mind away!!! 8-)

Thanks for the amazing videos Steven!!!!
