Hi RacingMat.

"With a file, try to file a 18° cone down : it has to go well on the motor shaft. " --> how did you do that? What kind of object ?

Thank you

Hi,
thanks for reply. But I'm not at the step to send serial comands. I have not connected the pot to the motors i'm just at step 1. My psu should have enough amperage because its in parallel with car battery and the motor on the right side is moving very well only the left one isn't inverting. But like i said motors connectet directly to psu they work fine and hbridge without motors work fine too so i'm a little bit confused what i did wrong. :?:

I don't power the arduino separatly only by usb. Or is it necassary to power arduino with external psu?

here are 2 pictures of my wireing with no connected motors.

It works well for me with no additional external power supply!

I looked at your pics: maybe the cable ground shield (aluminium) may shortcut somewhere?!

you must power the arduino
when power up it move the motors to try to brink the pot at the middle.
the cable and the metal are too oooooooooooooooooo thin
use cable 2.5mm minimum and the metal of 5mm
the current when you are on the seat it is more than 10A I have 2 power supplys of 16A and I think that are small.

Hi,
thanks for answer. You connect it to 5v and gnd? I thought 5v pin is for output.
use cable 2.5mm minimum and the metal of 5mm

what did you meand with metal? My cables to motor are 2,5mm² isn't this enough?

the flang of the motor is to thick I use 5mm

plug 5v at pin with 5V and connect the gnd of the psu with the gnd of the battery
all the power supply must have the same gnd cable
the 2.5mm cable is good for the power of each motor the cable that power both motors is better to be 5mm (input of monster controler)

Hi,
ok i will make the cables thicker later. At the moment i drive the motors without load and with 10A fuse. Everything works well instead that the one motor isn't inverting. If no motors connected controller work fine. I replaced pot cable and pots. I really don't know what to do the otherside just works fine :?: . Maybe my controller is defective? Would be very bad :(

Like i said before the led for direction that isn't working is not lit up very bright.

do you have place a resistance (470R) at one side of the pot?
if not then there are 2 possible mistakes
a) you damage the one side of the pot (burned)
b) you have damage the lines 5V ot he arduino

this is happen because at the one side of the pot the resistance is 0 and this short the power and damage the power line or burn the edge of the pot
even if you change the pots and the turn it from one side to other side with power then the edge of the pot is damaged
messure it and the 2 edges must have 10K resistance.
I have put 47k pot and a 470 R at one edge.

Hi,
at first test i had no resistors. Than i've readed it and added 2x220ohm becuase i hat no 470 ohm resistor. This will not change anything. I measured 5 vollt line from arduino and its ok. Pots both ave 1,16 Kohm resistanze so they shoud be ok too. Because if i switch them they work fine on the other side.

I made a little video maybe you can see better whats the problem. At first you see behavior without connectd motors everything ok. Second is with motor connected on the left side you see the green led doesn't work good. Sry for bad video quality.

For me everything looks like my controller is defective. So you think this will be a better solution? http://nodna.de/Pololu-Dual-VNH5019-Motor-Driver-Shield-fuer-Arduino-12A
