Hi!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwZKFd9pbmY

There is a moving platformed Robinson R-44 helicopter simulator at the Budaörs airfield. It is located in the service department section of the airfield. The simulator uses a real-life Robinson R-44 cocpit which has been placed on a moving platform. There are 3 projectors above the cockpit providing 240-degrees wide projection around you. All the switches, handles, annunciator lights are operational providing a real flying experience. The Robinson R44 is a four-seat light helicopter produced by the Robinson Helicopter Company since 1992. The R44 has a semi-rigid two-bladed main rotor and a two-bladed tail rotor and a skid landing gear. It has an enclosed cabin with two rows of side-by-side seating for a pilot and three passengers. In July 2002, Robinson introduced the Raven II featuring a more powerful, fuel-injected engine and wider blades, allowing a higher gross weight and improved altitude performance. In this video, you can see an engine start first, then a few scenes about the activation procedure of the moving platform:
http://youtu.be/JwZKFd9pbmY?t=1m7s
After the activation the moving platform, you can see a a clip about the movements of the cyclic stick and the anti-torque pedals, then a free flight compilation: http://youtu.be/JwZKFd9pbmY?t=1m53s
It is possible to simulate any kind of emergency situations, like surprise engine stops. You can see one followed by an autorotation landing:
http://youtu.be/JwZKFd9pbmY?t=5m11s
After the autorotation the free flight compilation continues with random landings. First, on a top of a tall building, then to a parking lot of a fast-food restaurant: http://youtu.be/JwZKFd9pbmY?t=5m53s At the end of the video, you can see a short flight with co-pilot in headset for the sake of the real-life feeling: http://youtu.be/JwZKFd9pbmY?t=7m42s The main pilot was Gergely Mészáros in this video. If you want to try the simulator, you please contact the operators athttp://www.szimulator.com/

Hi macrokefag,

Really awesome job.If one day I'm not far from your office I will visit you !!

Did you have more details or video from your plateform moving and how did you simulate/program an emergency situation?

Hi Vicpopo

Okay ..
Come inside if you are around .. :)

https://www.google.hu/maps/place/1112+B ... d066?hl=hu

Unfortunately, there is not much movement in the video.
But I try to make. :|

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZuDBMLbL9o

The platform 4m diameter .
3 x 1.5 kw 1420 rpm AC motor
1/100 ratio
+- 30cm Z axis and +- XY axis 25 degrees.
about 50degree/s

use x-plane10 simulator program.
There are many failures can be simulated.
engine failure bird collision fuel failure too high wind fog rain
etc. :D
