Nice to see the 6DOF's spreading like wildfire :)
I look forward to see how you progress.

Good luck

great project!
I have a question:
why you put the engine as far them.
For the 6 DOF, travel, cams engine down should be as near as possible.

in your drawing, there is a large space.
the engine down not to the point of the triangle.

I highlighted in my building a symmetry problem in moving the cam engine.
look at my video:
Correct

Not correct

so that the movement is symmetrical, the axis positioner must have the upper half-of the cam bottom
is what you are watching this in your buildings?

Riton thanks for your reply :)
Sorry for my poor English :P
What do you mean about the the engine down not to the point of the triangle?

In my design, the motor are sitting like this, the to CAM is pointing inside, face to face:
3161

The upper platform's surge sway space is smaller than CAM pointing outside back to back, heavy yaw roll and pitch all most the same I think.

update some pictures of the progress:

Motor base and the upper platform
3166

deck where putting the seat, controller and triple screen
3164

connectors for the screen
3162

I'm little worry about the strength of the winch
let me have a try anyway

the whole simulator will be at least 160cm high hard to move and transport
So in my design the upper platform and the deck are separable
And I need to find a way to immobilizing the upper platform and deck, here is tow option:

Opt.1 5 point screw strengths
3167

Opt.2 3 point lathedog strengths
3168

A bit harder to locate the exact position in Opt.1
I'm prefer Opt.2 now

Thanks for watching

Wow, really nice looking sim.
Did you make the frame yourself? the stainless looks impressive.

Also, what type of VFDs, motors and gearboxes did you use? (manufacturer, gear ratio, power, model, etc.)

Super cool man, looking forward to more posts :)

Thanks :)

I designed all the parts of this 6dof and find a local vendor to make it.

VFD comes from Schneider, ATV312H075M2.
AC motor and Gearbox are local brand called Tianji in Dongguan China which is quite cheap :)
Motor: 750W 1440 RPM
Gearbox: RV75 Ratio 1:60

here is some new photo of my 6dof updated last night
I lost 6 very important screws that connecting sensor to the gearbox, so there is not much progress last night :(
3211
3215
3213
3214

Also, the original stands of the sensor is not strong enough, I'm remaking it by the 3D printer will cost 1 hour each... now just one finished

very nice !!

the frame is steel / stainless steel or aluminum?

cams rectangular tube, it's an interesting idea too.
how is the grip on the motor shaft?
the tube goes well hold tight
