Hello everyone, I would like to share with you the realization of my project that consists of a motion platform 2dof which will then be converted into 3DOF.
Starting material:
Seat with metal structure
Logitech G27
3 Monitors 27 "
For the platform:
2 wiper motors
velleman K8055
sabertooth 2x12
2 potentiometers
12v power supply 50A
550w ATX power supply for PC
All mounted and tested movement with two pallets before making the final structure:
Until everything is right, the realization of the mobile platform.
First of all I have recovered a drive shaft of a panda from which I derived a universal joint.
From here then I changed my path because I recovered a base already partially built, and come equipped with:
Now a thousand tests to look for it and set the electronic x-sim.
First Issue, engines too weak to move properly the platform, new engines !!
Made supporting structure for engines:
Changes in the structure to accommodate the new engines:
Unfortunately the sabertooth 2x12 was not powerful enough for these engines, turned slow.
Sabertooth replaced with version 2x25.
First phase completed !.
Decided to resume the structure, rebuilt entirely of aluminum.
In this way it was possible to make adjustments and settings in a much simpler without continuous welds!
Problem of instability in the front part, fixed with a Teflon bar that slides into a support preventing the structure from moving laterally.
Structure finished:
The first results are there but not there yet:
