6 axis motion simulator

Postby paulmac000 » Sat 14. May 2016, 09:07

Hello all,

I'm using x-sim to send data to a motion planner to control a large 6 axis industrial robot that has an attachment for a seat. The arm is large enough that it provides the lurching feeling in the stomach and the sensation of real acceleration. Its payload is a few hundred kilograms so you can have two people ride it. It uses the same base arm as this:

3d modeling/animation package was used to model the arm and the limits of each axis. This provides the position for each axis for exporting to the arms control unit.

From there, a motion path that has the points for full acceleration/braking, full turn left/right and full up/down. I then take the output from x-sim to push the arm along the motion path to emulate the motion.

I'm still working on:
1) Using a cheat engine to pull variables from games. I'm using Distance for the first demo as it has rapid motion. I've got the pointers nailed, now just need to import it into xsim so I can push it into the motion planner.

2) Seat: Need to built the seat with the rumble speakers and micro feedback (terminology is wrong but I haven't looked into this at all yet as it is low priority atm)

Please shoot any questions my way. Would love to talk more about it :D

Hi Paulmac000,
How's you Kuka simulator going?
I'm heading this way too, have all the gadgets ready eg. KR350C2, Racing seat, software is Xsim, and I think an electronic interface that goes between PC and C2 is needed, correct?

Looking forward to see your Kuka simulator moving!!
