MasuTTi's Spheric Joyrider

Postby masutti » Wed 3. Oct 2012, 21:16

Hi guys
I was following the Sirnoname's work since 2009 when I found the site.
I am projecting a joyrider simulator since 2007 and now I’m constructing in inspired on Thanos project.
Bellow some photos of the project...

I have already tested a little prototype with the PID controller and H-Bridge using Thanos project and version 1.6 of X-Sim. I really enjoy it and now I believe at the end of this year to have my sim working. Now I am using these AMC (advanced motion controller) as pwm driver and testing my own PID controller to control 2 3,6N/m servo motors to turns the spheres until 300 degrees. The Idea is to use a 160 degrees blank fabric screen who wil be projected by a Optoma GT750E 3D projector.
This makes a 2m width screen with only 2m distant from it. The inner sphere will be closed by black fabric to make it more realistic to the driver.
When it is done, I will put here the whole project.

Thanks a lot guys for this really complete research stuff!
This site is something wonderful !!!

TKS Riton, the beautiful equipment is property of the factory where i work for.
I'v made an arrengement with the owner to work on weekends by my own.
The beautiful part is that I had to learn to work with each macchine to do the job... starting with the drawing software.
Ps. if someone here want to use, for students the Autodesk Inventor is free! Just need to register in MSDNAA.

Hi MasuTTi :)

Fingers crossed you are still working on your sim - it looks like an amazing project. If you've got any more photos I would surely love to see them.
(I was very close to building a simulator like this instead of the one I am currently doing and am super interested in seeing how yours goes)

The best of luck with your work.
