Wiper motors can last and or be destroyed.
It can depend on several things,
design of frame
balance point
power used
profiles and harshness
the wiper motor in the first place
I have destroyed wipers in the past on frames, but then again, I have had them survive fine.
The thing that has helped me all my wiper frames was a spring of about 3kg tension.
the spring was not used for balance. The frame was properly balance first.
The spring was used to create a light load against the wiper, helping keep the gears meshed without affecting motion.
With wipers, as the gears are soft and not designed for thrashing back and forth, the slight pressure on the gears kept them snug, so when they are being reversed as they do on a sim, they lasted longer.
Now I use big worm gears this is not needed. Just balance the frame and go racing. The big worm gear motors are more than strong enough to survive sim abuse.
