As it's difficult to watch on the photo , I attached below a picture for the shematic.

The attachment 381613340.285942.jpg is no longer available

Please check also your baud rate in fdti driver , 9600 .

Why does your wiring look different that what Thanos video. All our wires look the same but i do not have ground connected. I have mine exactly what Thanos video on the first page of this Post.

Thanks

Hi ,

My wiring is the same , the cable (orange) as Thanos made is unnecessary (checked with him).

Try with gnd cable.

Best Regards

Did the error give you FF FF FF as the switches? I'm using windows vista... do you think i should try with another operating system like xp?

Read Signature Bytes=> FF FF FF => ERROR

Is this means i have killed my ATmega CPU?

Thanks

Did you try to run the "first program fuses fw11h18.bat" (firmware 1.1h). It set the fuses once for correct crystal speed.

Two more suggestions:

Make sure the FTDI breakout board is set for 5V (there is a solder jumper that you have to clear and solder it again at 5v marking)

Make sure you have the latest FTDI drivers installed manually... the ones installed by microsoft automatically are not the latest!

Both yes.... i check the voltage and i get 5 volts. I also check the driver and using the latest driver. Thanos have you had any issues using windows vista to program the board?
