so you can use as5145H chip directly from the factory and only programere it if necessary or how should I do it?
I made the pcb which is on page 27 and it looks good :-)
and I only need to connect it to the feedback pots with 3 wires

sorry if i am a pain in the butt :-) but i like to have a success story to tell

If you use a Hall sensor you only get 180 degrees of movement.
With the AS5145H chip you get 360 degrees of movement, but you have to use the special magnet which is a Diametric Magnet, it is a circular magnet but the poles run from side to side and not end to end like a normal magnet. Google it for an explanation.
The best way to mount the magnet, is to drill a hole in the head of nylon or plastic bolt, just big enough to fit the magnet, but leaving about 1mm protruding from the bolt, the thread can be mounted in a hole in the end of a shaft or whatever you are going to mount it in that rotates. With having a thread it allows the magnet to be able to be rotated for adjusting the position of the magnet.

I understand totally what the magnet is doing and why :-)
but it is as5145h chip I'm not sure will work directly from the factory
or can I mount it on your nice pcb and it will emit signals for feedback pots

sincerely,

Thanks, Senetor, for the heads up on the free sample. I missed your earlier posts. Great ideas, and work you've done there. I've ordered them and look forward to playing around (and maybe your PCB too...).

Postsol, you can use the AS5145H in it's native state, (unprogrammed).
You only need to program it to do other things.
Refer to page 10 of this post.

And here is a video Thanos made of how to use it.

You could also use the AS5145H IC dead bug style, this would involve cutting of the leads that are not required and soldering on leaded resistors and ceramic capacitors of the correct values and the wires directly to the AS5145H IC. The components would be mounted on the bottom side of the IC so as to leave the top free of components for the magnet to operate. The IC could then be mounted to a piece of plastic sheet with some epoxy glue so it could be mounted to a bracket or whatever is required.

Hi
Senetor thanks for the heads up on the AMS sensors, I have a sample of the AS5162 sensors coming, this has analogue output and 8 pins so I will try a breakout board to mount, with the programming option the range can be reduced ie 180 * for my application it also looks like the output can be reversed to suit CW or CCW.

Just need Thanos to get time and create a programming video! (please Thanos).
