wiper motor problem

Postby runningwild82 » Thu 6. Mar 2014, 13:38

Hi, i've got 2 wiper motors in my 2DOF sim controlled with 2 pololu jrks, the one used for the pitch runs ok in both direction, but the one used for the roll is powerful enough only in the normal direction, when reverting is very weak... i've checked the settings of the jrk and it's ok... what could be the issue? thank you for your help!

you may need to re-wire it, this involves opening it up do some soldering eventually and putting it back together.
if you're lucky enough, you may be able to solve the problem as shown here

good luck!

another thing, changing the speed does the torque change too? asking because my problem is not speed but is the power of the motor that in one direction manages without problems the load but in the opposite direction is just too weak... when i go home i'll test it without the load to see if there's a speed difference between directions

it really depends on the motor but more speed doesn't necessarily mean more torque.
however, maybe it has enough torque but because it doesn't have the speed it just feels lazy. you'll know better when you'll have the speed issue fixed.

Hi

Are you using this for flight sim or car racing?

Can you post a sketch of your motor positions / mounting points

regards Terry
