Hi,
i have change my small Car Wipermotors against big Golftrolleymotors (12V, 180W, 25:1 gear ratio, Rated Torque 5,5 Nm and Peak Torque 64 Nm :brows: ). I have do a Test and was wondering that the mosfet IRF3205 and IRF4905 was going very hot. With the Car Wipermotors there was no problem over the last years. What is the maximum temperature of these mosfets?. Perhaps i have to improve my mosfetcooling.
Can this H-bridge handle such big motors?. I don`t make a measurement till now, but i guess each motor take 20A at full Load.
In the old Forum someone wrote that i have to use the IRLZ44N instead of the IRF3205. Because of the temperature problem that is transmitted by the sink to IRF4905

Before testing with the bigger Motors, i did change the IRFZ44 with the new IRF3205

hi every one ...
I've made a 8 MOSFET ,full N-channel ,with a computer fan cooler for best cooling ,using the IR2110 MOSFET driver IC ...

That looks good! A little big but its one layer!! Double layer would make it a lot smaller.

Did you build that board yet? I think you should start a new project page with it and put more information like some more real photos of the assembled board and some video of it in operation!! Also some heating tests under load would be nice to know the temperatures that it can reach.

Hello all,
I got my H-bridge (Tronic `s DIY dual MOSFET H-bridge) built.

Now I have always the problem that my mosfets overheat  :o

Why is that everything is soldered properly! 3x checked! :)

P-channel MOSFET IRF 4905
N-channel MOSFET 44 IRFZ

All are constructed as in the plan, it all works just the mosfets too hot

Please write me back if you have a solution / assistance :P

best regards
Christian

I suggest to use IRLZ44N or IRL540N for N-channel. They require less volt to operate.
I've used IRL540N already, and now I'm waiting for the IRLZ44N. I need to replace the mosfets as I had a problem with my arduino controller, that it's opened both direction at the same time.

Hi all,

have far v1.2b brought my H-bridge to work.

When I connect my car battery with the H-bridge, everything works fine (LEDs show the correct positions, and the connection to the AMC 1.6 works without problems!).

But as soon as I connect one of my wiper motors with the H-bridge go all LED's out!

The motor does not move one hears only a short jump of the motor does not move!

Can anyone help me?

I would be very grateful!

Greetings
Christian

Hallo ,

Christian

Hi, I have been using the Dsmhb of Tronicgr for a long time with no problem ...
You have isolated the ground of the wipermotor ? maybe there's your problem ..
