I just got it in the mail.

Its this board:

Now I'll have to arrange the software tools and the debugger equipment. Will keep you posted on progress. When I have enough progress will make a new thread about it in the controllers section of the forum.

Great to see it finally arrived.

Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Maybe an interesting subject for the news page as well? E.g. occasional status updates?

All I can tell so far is that the code won't be just a single file... more likely a series of files that including the peripheral libraries can add-up quickly. Deploying and setting up the tool-chain isn't simple either. Will make source available if anyone can understand it. Its a little far from arduino style, more close to PC software architecture I would say.

A ready compiled version in single file that can be downloaded in DFU mode (USB-OTG) is way easier to load it without external debugger/loader.

Hey Thanos,

Did you determine if that JLINK V8 emulator works well with this board yet? Also, what toolchain are you going to use?

Yes, it works perfectly. The J-Flash ARM interface is amazing!! As I mentioned before the toolchain I'll use is the Atollic TrueSTUDIO (they have a "lite" version).

Doing little steps for now because as you said its a toolchain and I'll have to get used to it. Totally different from the programming interface I was using for AVR chips!! :D

Can you believe how expensive this pro toolchains are? $2500 for the pro version of the one you're using. Sheesh.

Did you know TrueSTUDIO lite doesn't support C++? You plan to stick to C code only, I guess? I'm nervous investing the significant learning time in TrueSTUDIO lite because there's sample code and libs out there in C++, and being limited to C only makes me feel a bit handcuffed.

I'm going to take a crack at setting up one of the full-featured OpenSource toolchains sometime in the next few days. Will let you know how it goes. Is there a reason you wanted to stay away from them?

BTW, I've read some folks really like the Rowley CrossWorks IDE. $150 for their personnel edition is far from free, but the cheapest non-OpenSource offering I could find. Have you heard of it?
