Hi vicpopo:
Or like the old King Arthur round table ...
Prepare your MOSFET's plus the Iron, We are attacking in the morning ... Cool down guys a heat sink is coming ...

I guess it didn't fit like this ...

you may make grooves to get the screws heads down like this

or use one copper coin or two to rise the fan up

What are these brown sheets behind the mosfets ? ...They looks like brown Bakelite sheets ... The grey one ONLY is fair enough to isolate electricity and conduct heat, test it with the AVO meter ... Didn't you find transparent mica sheets ?

you're good to go pilot,
"message from your copilot "

Hi Speedy,
Thanks for ideas I was a little blank...The brown sheet was described as insulating kit.
The blue one is thermal sheet.I will test with ohmmeter.
The available area for cpu fan is a 32mm circle. The cpu copper square is 32 mm side. What a pitty !!!
I will thought about the solution.
First I wanted to tape the copper disk but I broken my tool for taping the hole in M3.
Best Regards

Pls. remove the brown one it's not thermal ...
And I've seen the blue one before and I know it's thermal electric isolation used for MOSFET's for sure ...
Wow ... exactly 32mm for each ... OK use a sander or a scrapper to remove 1mm from two sides only of the fan base
Regarding how you're going to attache it in the future ...
edit :OR do that for the screw heads ... take 1mm of each head round side to be flat ... and adjust the flat side to face the fan's base .

Hi Speedy,
I will make the solution with screws heads deeper in the copper disk.
I need to rework just 4 screws holes and that will be OK.
I saw your above post modified. You're right

Hi vicpopo, Hi speedy.

I apologize for intervening, but as I see on photos with assembled cooper disk with MOSFETS - they (MOSFETS) may be not isolated from disk thru the screw and nut. Because it looks that way. Are you already checked the isolation by OhmMeter?

Ale

To isolate the screw, you need this:

Hey Prilad ... my big friend ... ;) ...you're welcome any time & Riton too that's my lucky day  ... No one is posting except vicpopo   my dear friend ... what do you think for a drink ??
That's very good observation point ...Sorry, my memory can't handle all that bad luck I'm having these days  ... It must be missed in instructions from the beginning  ... However, What else ? waiting for your valuable comments ... :ugeek:

But I guess vicpopo know the concept since he did Thanos H-Bridge before ...
I guess he did added that canon isolants ...

They just some times are white in color ... like these ...

it's also for the TO-220

I hope you're right. But it's really looks like a metal washer and nut. :o

I keep watching this with your project. I find it very interesting.
That's what I wanted to ask - are you sure that linear cuts in the copper plate is need to do? I think it will be work fine and without they. (IMHO) ;)

Ale

the cut's in the copper disk are made to direct the heat toward the center of the disk ... is the center of heat drain ... so it will be sucked by the fan ... no heat leakage between MOSFET's ...
