Hello Terry,

I haven't got the describe software hooked. It did try using a carbattery as powersupply (with and without charger) and I have the same result: the sabertooth 2x25 works fine, the Syren10 gives a fault.

I hope dimensionengineering has a solution but I am starting to think the syren10 doesn't work with the kangaroo x2 (according to their site it should). Normally I wouldn't consider this a problem and just buy a sabertooth. But I am a teacher electrical engineering and a few months my school bought 6 syren10's for the students. So it just ordering sabertooth is not an option :-) .

Should I finf a solution I'll let you *

Thanks for the advice,
Bart

Hi Bart

Not sure how the address setup works without DEScribe?

When the Sysren runs as on its own as a speed controller you set address via dip switches, those dips are changed to suit the Kangaroo,
can you hook up to describe to check the address? The auto-tune can then be set within the sw tool.

Hello Terry,

Just for your information. The problem with the Syren10 was that it had an old firmware. I send the syren10's to dimension engineering where they will flash the new firmware. The MFG date of the syren10 needs to be at least 18/13 or later.

And handy to know that the kangaroo x2 can count 200 000 pulses per second.

Greetings,
Bart
