To speak yoda: Interesting post this is :!: expecially since I'm using JRK's and what seem to be the same motors (250W ZYT90 with MCP4 25:1 gearbox) you are using ;)

Looking forward to seeing your project as well!

Ah ok, they looked pretty similar but the video isn't clear enough to see all details.

Didn't open them yet but who knows ...... ;) ..... motors are very easy to open, gearboxes are riveted so I'd rather not open them. Decided to use an aluminum bush on the motor that should be inverted.

spec wise they aren't much different though so still looking forward to reading your findings (and your project of course!)

Unless you bought them from motion dynamics, they are not the same motor. The motion dynamics jobs are custom designed.
Still, thrash your motors to hell anyway and enjoy!

Don't want to hijack this topic, but reading your post in other words you are basically trying to say in a friendly way that the motion dynamics motors are way better.

I know you have great experience with their motors, but you don't even know the specs of the ZYT90 and MCP4 compared to the dayton ones (or other comparable motors out there) :?:

For example just to get back on the bearings BobBuilt mentioned:

From the ZYT90 specs:
Motor bearing Deep groove ball bearings

From the MCP4 specs:
high-quality ball bearings

NOFI! And I have no problems with you promoting the motion dynamics motors, but please do in such way that it doesn't seem that anything else is rubbish ;)

I NEVER said the other motors were rubbish, I simply said they are built differently, thats all.
I see no issues with the motors you have, they look good, are cheap and will move you better than a wiper for sure.
I am sure they are strong.
Use them and enjoy!

I know! It is the tone of the message that sort of implied that imho, and as mentioned: absolutely NOFI! (if I offended you in any way: sorry for that!) so let's get back on topic.

No worries, I will ;)

BobBuilt wrote:...

Any yes all shafts have dual high quality sealed bearings supporting on both shafts and shaft coupler between motor and box to remove any free play or resistance againist the motor.

Yours look to be of simular quality construction. But please they are about 150% better than a dayton unit.

They indeed are ball-beared and have a shaft coupler (with shock absorption) in between de motor and gearbox as well.
