Has someone such a device?

12V 3A seems to be usable for wiper engines.

it seems that it is based on something like this L298 H-bridge driving IC

and the rest is a pic micro controller programmed with one of the a stander routines that can be downloaded and modified if you know how...

the interesting thing that L298 dual Full H-Bridge motor controller can be added to it's twin Ic L297 that drives a stepper motor ...

I'm not an electronics expert, but i was advised to use a power source of at least 25 amp when using a wiper motor... the divise you show is 6 amp... and also cost $90 usdlls, i guess maybe jrk would be a better option, since they handle even 30 or more amps and they not requiere any programing from you

The best wiper engine I saw was with 2 Ampere. VW Golf ;)
Which one is bigger and available on the market?

o man! i think i got confused!, motiondave is helping me to construct a 2 wiper sim, and he told me that i have to buy a power source of at least 25 amp per motor!... so i understud that the 25 amp where the consuption of the wiper motor... so what you say is that with only two amps everything runs fine? or i am missing somenting?

best regards

A wiper motor might have a nominal current draw of only a few Amps at regular use but a dc motor tries to draw as much current as it needs. Even killing itself if it is supplied with these currents.

In sim use they will draw a lot more than their nominal current so these controllers will not be sufficient.

For example my wiper motors where limited at 20A in the jrk12v12 utility and when monitoring the current draw it reached that maximum regularly.

True, I used to run my wipers at 22 amps stall current.
DC motors on sims run a LOT more current than listed.
A suitable controller for DC motors, especially if people use the bigger worm gear ones , would have to be at least 30 amps.

Oh Floriske, run the JRK at 30 amps, and really see the action!
Dem big arse worm gear mota's suck the juice!

Ok but floriskes wipers motors are not automotive wiper engines, they are big wormgear motors.
I think to continue his way and do not follow the wiper engines anymore. I do not get wiper engines with this power.
However the wiper engines of a car cannot draw 20 Amperes ;) Your battery would be down very quickly.

By the way the h-bridge of the JRK12 are available at farnell and can be exchanged very easily. Their price: 25€.

My previous motors where car wiper motors (opel / Vauxhall) and those drew 20A. So yes, car wiper motors can draw 20A but feel free to try.

@Dave: I am running the new motors at 30A don't worry ;)
