I only watched the video and the noises there are i.O.
If you empty the math and you have selected the output in the synaptrix you will send zero (middle position), This ~200 times a second.
If you remove the sanyptrix output or disable the scn5 plugin you do not have output.
On the other side mirai do not use X-Sim, so there might be something else ...

Eureka is the word :D
I rewired from the power supply to the actuators, put in new resistor and z-diode and it's really like new :)

I have one question which I am trying to understand * I am getting 24.1v from the power supply. If I plug the +24v cable into my kill switch (after z-diode and resistor) I still get 24.1v. As soon as I plug the ILK lead in it drops to around 15volts. It doesn't seem to change the motion or any settings but is this normal, is it bad :?

Sirnoname..thanks for your patience ;)

Yes, the first test showed us that the ilk pin is very sensitive and get damaged if there is to much power.
If the ilk pin is defective you cannot repair this and you have to disable the ilk input completely with the SCN5 original software.

Don't understood this. If you press the switch the motor has to stop.

What I meant was should the voltage reduce to 15v once it's connected to the ILK pin, but I assume it's as it should be :)

Yes it should. It is the protection of the ilk pin.

Good evening !

Having migrated from XP to Windows 7, I have tried to replace my old RS232/RS485 converters (which worked !) by Elekor's USB/RS485 (110258-91) converters =>
Image

After hundreds of attemps with a multitude of combinations of settings, I have finally given up (SCN6 not detected).

Having realized that I am what you rightly call a Noob, I have now ordered the converters from US Converters which you recommend =>

Would you, by any chance, remember the settings which you used with these converters ?

Thanks in advance, und Guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr !

Mereni

Note 1 : I can send you my Elektor converters if you are interested to try your luck (and skills !)

Note 2 : for your information, the ""free serial monitor" mentionned in your softwae thread apparently does not work anymore with Windows 7 64 bits. I have had to use instead a trial version of "Serial Monitor" (http://www.hhdsoftware.com/Download/serial-monitor.exe)

Note 3 : also for your information, the present status of my simulator :

under GTR : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byD5lzNUF28

Can you make a screenshot of your elektor adapter seen in the device manager?
And perhaps a screenshot of the advanced setup of the device manager if you click on the adapter and then advanced?
What is the jumper for?

Here are my Device Manager screenshots : Image

The JP1 jumper seems to give the possibility to remove the 120 Ohms end-of-line resistor. I am using the long (5m) original Dyadic cables ; I have consequently left the jumper in place in most of my attempts :

Hi, in the two SCN5 threads (Software thread, read the first thread beginning)) is described how to setup this dialog. Lower the 16ms latence to the lowest delay of 1 and to enable the serial printer port option on the right side which is not set in your picture. In my thread picture the serial printer option is off but you can give it a try.
Your adapter is a FTDI adapter and should work asap. Try also the newest FTDI drivers.
120Ohm must be connected. 5m are long and might get in problem with a low power transceiver. Try 1m.
This adapters are known as very save to work.

Hi again ( & Mahlzeit !)

1.- I have changed Latency to 1 and Printer to X :

Image

2.- I have updated the FTDI driver to 2.8.24.0

3.- I have put in place a set of 1 meter cables

No real success, but maybe a little progress in the communication dialog : it has changed slightly from the initial "pure echoes" which I had previously to the following :

with the following settings :

Any other comments or suggestions ?

And many thanks for your support and your promptitude !

Note : for info, under W7 64bits (on my machine at least...), the X-SIM entry in the Registry is not anymore under HKLM/SOFTWARE, but now under HKLM/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node
