Problem with Monster Moto Shield L298N  Topic is solved

Postby zgmail » Tue 4. Feb 2020, 14:43

Hi,

Im new to this group, im building at the moment a 2DOF simulator. Ive done allready the frame, now doing the electric part, but i have some problems with the Monster Moto Shield.
I ordered 4 but none of them is working .... ;( ... so it must be a problem between desk and chair ;). I cant really figure out how should i test the Monster Moto Shield alone.
I connected the power supply, the led is on but if i measure the legs GND-5V or GND-3.3V is no power on. If i put on the top of arduino R3 the arduino board doesnt get any power...

Does anybody have a solution how can I check the L298N H-bridge is ok ?

thx.

regards

It is easy to destroy one half, so you should always start with a small motor.
You should try to find a proper arduino forum to ask for a way to test them manually. With using PID software you do not have a good test situation.
If a answer is correct or did help you for a solution, please use the solve button.

hi,

Thx for the quick reply;)
I describe the problem better, what i did is
- solder the monster moto shield put on the top of arduino and tried with the motors--> nothing
than
I took ONLY the monster moto shield powerd on PSU 12 V and meassured the pins +5V-GND (where the pot is comming)--> nothing (no current)

I should get 5 volt, am I write? PSU is IN and +5V-GND is OUT ... or did I miss something complitly

What could I use instead of monster moto shield on low budget ?

thx.
